BTS is a one year non-residential program designed for undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in exploring career options in information technology.
Its faculty and staff are very dedicated to the program and work hard to assist the students as they advance through the program. The program’s strong emphasis on the use of technology in today’s workplace and its strong emphasis on ethics are ideal for those interested in pursuing a career in technology-related fields.
BTS students have the opportunity to earn three major certifications. All students are required to achieve at least a 70% overall average to complete the program. Successful completion of the program qualifies graduates for careers in information technology.

During the first semester of the program, students meet with an advisor who helps them plan a career path based on their interests. This is particularly helpful for those who have not yet chosen a major.
A variety of courses
All students are required to take 12 courses in their first year of the program. These courses provide a solid foundation for those who may be interested in pursuing a career in information technology. Courses include a variety of topics, such as software engineering, web design and development, network administration, programming and many others.
Career advising
Students have the opportunity to attend career fairs, job talks and networking events that are sponsored by employers throughout the local San Diego area. These events allow students to meet with representatives of local companies, learn more about their jobs and learn what it is like to work in their company. Students also have the opportunity to attend an end-of-the-semester career fair where they can learn more about their options.
A variety of majors
The BTS Information Technology program offers two major programs. Many of the classes in the programs are transferable and this allows BTS students to earn a bachelor’s degree in three years.

The Computer Applications major is perfect for those who are interested in a career in computer support. These individuals typically work with computers in a variety of locations, including libraries and universities.
Bachelor of Information Technology
The Bachelor of Information Technology major is perfect for those who are interested in a career in information technology.

The performance and mechanism of a genetically engineered metal-organic framework, MOF-808, towards CO2 capture was studied. CO2 was confirmed to bind in the pores of the MOF by the positron annihilation lifetime measurement and the pore volume was estimated to be 0.73 cm3 g-1. A density functional theory (DFT) study for two hypothetical CO2-embedded MOFs of similar pore volume was performed, and the chemical shift of bound CO2 molecule was determined using a quantum chemical approach. As a result, the binding energy of CO2 in MOF-808 was found to be -4.4 kcal mol-1, showing that the binding energy is almost the same as that of most MOFs of similar pore volume, which might be attributed to its higher number of coordination sites per unit cell. The adsorption energy of CO2 in a CO2-free MOF was -4.0 kcal mol-1, which is almost the same as that of CO2 in the hypothetical CO2-embedded MOF. Thus, the adsorption of CO2 in the CO2-embedded MOF would be based on the physisorption, although the pore volume was lower than that of most MOFs. The surface chemical reactions of MOF-808 under CO2 and simulated flue gas conditions were also investigated by the N2 sorption measurement. MOF-808 was shown to convert most of CO2 into CO at both room temperature and 150°C under simulated flue gas conditions.
